I’m very excited to share these fabulous HD screencaptures from Now You See Me with you today! Isla looks gorgeous in the film, and you know I always love the extra prettyness of HD. I really loved this film – it was thrilling and entertaining, and had a really awesome cast. I particularly loved Isla and Jesse Eisenberg’s chemistry and hope they get to make many more films together because they worked so well together! I would’ve liked to have seen more of their relationship throughout the film, as well as a bit more focus on the Four Horsemen rather than the FBI, but that is my only quibble with the film. I’d definitely recommend watching the movie if you haven’t already done so, it’s one of Isla’s best.
The Charities page has been updated with extensive information on Isla’s recent involvement with the Save The Children Breast Milk campaign. Find out more about the cause closest to Isla’s heart!
The Fisher Phrases section on the sidebar has also been updated with some new quotes – you will see a new one each time you refresh/change the page so get browsing the site
Jesse Eisenberg talks about Isla during the promotion for Now You See Me. These two need to do more movies together!!
Remember when I said Isla was on the cover of several of the current international editions of Cosmopolitan? Well it seems her Cosmo take-over is bigger than I thought! She has appeared on no less than 10 Cosmopolitan magazine covers in August/September this year – pretty impressive, I think! I have added all of these covers to our Gallery – click the thumbnails below to see them all. I really like the green tinted ones from Greece and Cyprus. We have a full set of scans from the Italian, Russian and original UK editions, but if anyone can provide us with scans from the other editions then drop me a line
Back in May Isla appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Chelsea Lately to promote Now You See Me, and I have now added HQ photos and HD screencaptures from them to our Gallery. Isla looked gorgeous on both shows, and I particularly like her cute hair and little cream dress on Chelsea Lately.
You can watch the Chelsea Lately interview further down this post – Isla and Chelsea are friends ‘off screen’ I believe and you can see this in their chat as it was a very fun interview! I haven’t found a video from Leno to post yet, but am working on that. I was surprised when I remembered that this was Isla’s first appearance on Leno’s show! They talked about Isla’s name, her novel writing past, and Now You See Me, and Isla also did a card trick with them.
Enjoy HQ photos and screencaptures from these TV appearances in the Gallery…
The Great Gatsby is released on DVD and Blu-ray in the US today, and I have a fabulous bunch of HD screencaptures from the film for you! I really enjoyed the film – it had a great cast, and looked and sounded great, and it’s probably one of my favourites of the year so far. Isla was ravishing as Myrtle and I thought she gave a really different performance from anything we’ve seen her do before – I was quite taken aback at how different she was, although did notice some of her trademark quirks thrown in too. I just wished we could’ve seen more of Myrtle!
Enjoy the beautiful screencaptures in our Gallery, and don’t forget that they will obviously contain spoilers!! If you haven’t seen the movie yet then be sure to track down a copy
As posted about on our Twitter, Isla is on the cover of several of the international editions of Cosmopolitan magazine this month, including Italy, Russia, Ukraine and Australia! Earlier in the week I added scans from the Russian and Italian editions to our Gallery.
Pick up a copy of the magazines if you can, international fans!
Last year it was reported that Isla would be joining the cast of a film adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s novel The Switch, and then earlier this year we heard reports that filming had started. After that though, I fell off the ball if you like and have not kept up with this movie! So we have some updates for you now – finally…
Isla was indeed pictured on the set of the movie earlier this year, therefore confirming her involvement in the project. As the original article stated, she is playing a character named Melanie, and is joined in the cast by Tim Robbins, John Hawkes, Mos Def and her friend Jennifer Aniston. The film is now titled Life Of Crime, and will be the closing night film for the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
Deadline also have an interview with the director Daniel Schechter:
As Adaptation Of Elmore Leonard Classic Heads For Toronto, Its Director Laments That His Idol Won’t Be There To See It
EXCLUSIVE: Like so many directors with Toronto-bound films, writer/director Daniel Schechter has been in a race to finish Life Of Crime, his adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel The Switch. Schechter was particularly in a hurry because the 87-year old Leonard’s health was shaky and he was eager to see the movie after giving a free option to a relative newcomer who was crazy enough to adapt the novel on spec and then clean up rights issues that led all the way to France. Sadly, Schechter didn’t get done in time to show his literary idol the film that will be the closing night Gala Premiere at Toronto, starring Jennifer Aniston, John Hawkes, Mos Def, Tim Robbins, Isla Fisher and Will Forte.
I’m very grateful to our Twitter friend Nathii for tweeting us some fantastic collages she made of Isla, and for letting me post them here on the site! She used some of my favourite pics of Isla, and it is of course nice to see so many pics of Isla all together, right?!
Our fanart page doesn’t look so empty now, which is great If anyone else has made any fanart of any kind featuring Isla, and you’d like to see it displayed here on Isla Fisher Web, then just get in touch – I’d love to hear from you…
