I have more from the two European Rango events for you today! I accidently deleted all the Berlin photos, so I’ve re-added them … along with another 55 photos from that event. And we have almost 50 more photos from yesterday’s photocall in London. Most of these photos are in HQ, so you can enjoy Isla a bit closer! I really love her looks at these events! For the fashion fans amongst us, Isla’s London outfit was Dolce & Gabbana with Christian Louboutin pumps, and in Berlin she wore Elise Overland, and Louboutin pumps again.
You may be interested to know that the older man that Isla is hugging in some of the Berlin photos (including the 3rd thumbnail below) is her dad, Brian, who lives in Frankfurt!

Earlier today our lovely Isla attended a photocall for Rango in London, alongside her co-star Abigail Breslin, and their director Gore Verbinksi. Isla looked classy in what is becoming her trademark style – a short dress, showing off her perfect pins! This time she opted for a beige colour dress with beautiful black decoration, and a little black jacket. 86 HQ photos have been added to the Gallery for your viewing pleasure, and check back soon for more!
I think there was originally going to be a premiere for the film in London this week, but for unknown reasons that has been cancelled. I guess this photocall replaced it. There may be a screening of the film in London this Saturday with a red carpet, but I’m unsure whether that has been confirmed. As always, stay tuned here and I’ll keep you updated!

Thanks to our awesome visitor Pauline for the heads-up on two new interviews Isla has given to promote Rango! I’m guessing these were done last week maybe, around the time of the premiere.

Isla is now in Europe to promote Rango! She attended a premiere for the movie in Berlin yesterday, with her co-star Abigail Breslin and their director Gore Verbinski. Isla looked fabulous in a little deep red lace dress – she always looks great in red, I think. 40+ photos have been added to the Gallery for you, and I’m sure more will pop up soon. I’ll also be on the lookout for some videos etc., and if you come across any before me then please post a comment!
Hopefully we’ll get a premiere in London this week too and/or maybe more events in Europe! It’s great to be seeing more of Isla out and about again!

Early last month I posted about Isla decorating a bra for an auction to support the Jewish Community Centre, and now thanks to Rachel we have a picture of her customised bra! Isla’s bra is typically colourful, and very pretty. View the picture to your left, and you can bid on it at jccbigbraauction.org.uk The auction closes on February 28th, and Isla’s bra is only at £50 so far, so you may be in with a chance!
Bid on a bra designed by Isla Fisher
Isla Fisher has revealed she was disappointed when she couldn’t kiss co-star Johnny Depp because she had a cold.
The Australian beauty and the Hollywood heart throb lend their voices to animated comedy Rango. The actress takes on the role of Bean in the movie – in which Johnny plays the title character. Despite only voicing the movie, Isla, 35, claims that director Gore Verbinski still insisted on the cast acting out their scenes together.
When asked to kiss the leading man, the mother-of-two says she passed up the opportunity because she was feeling ill.
“Although we were only voicing the characters we were encouraged to actually act out scenes,” she is quoted as saying. “It came to the scene where my character kisses Johnny’s but I ducked out as I had a really bad cold and I didn’t want him to catch it. “
Isla – who is happily married to Borat actor Sacha Baron Cohen – has admitted that it only dawned on her afterwards that she had missed her chance to kiss the actor, who is renowned for his sex appeal. The actress even contemplated passing on her cold in order to give her co-star a smooch.
“Afterwards I was like, ‘What was I thinking? It’s Johnny Depp.’ Maybe I should have just got the kiss and given him the germs,” she added.
Even petite Isla Fisher sometimes struggles with her weight.
The star of the new animated flick Rango told UsMagazine.com that she can’t tuck into food like she used to. “I don’t know. I’m just trying my best,” said the mother of two and wife of comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. Daughter Olive is 3, and Fisher just gave birth to her second daughter — whose name has not yet been released — 6 months ago.
Getting rid of the baby weight has been tough work. “I used to say that I could eat anything I wanted and it was true and now I can tell you that I can’t eat whatever I want.”
Fisher, 35, radiated beauty at the Rango premiere, a film where she shared animated scenes with Johnny Depp.
As for her work with Depp, well, that was a piece of cake. “He’s so funny and I was so lucky and blessed to work with him and he’s such a brilliant actor,” she said.
A notoriously private couple, Fisher and Cohen were married in a top secret ceremony in Paris in March 2010.
In the lead up to the big summer films of 2011 we are in the midst of some wonderful family movies in the coming months. DreamWorks Studios just released Gnomeo and Juliet which grossed $25.5M in its opening weekend. DreamWorks also has its highly anticipated thriller, I Am Number Four (rated PG-13), opening this Friday, February 18.
On March 4, 2011, Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) under Nickelodeon-Paramount Pictures, debuts its animated movie Rango. Rango (voiced by the incomparable Johnny Deep) is the name of a troubled chameleon that is having an identity crisis (ironic for a changeable creature) and is trying to discover his path in life. Along his journey he finds himself in a Western town swarming with bandits where he soon realizes his dream of becoming a swashbuckling hero.
What’s new and unique about Rango is the method by which director Gore Verbinski worked with his actors to create the voices for the movie. Typically voice work for animated movies is non-collaborative. For instance when I interviewed Zach Levi and Mandy Moore, the main voices for Disney’s animated movie Tangled, the actors had never met until the press tour.
For the movie Rango, director Verbinski created an environment where all of the main actors had this incredible playing field complete with costumes, props and sets to act out the script (see video below). Their voices were recorded in what Verbinski calls “emotion capture” with the audio used for the final film. Verbinski’s goal was to develop a more “raw and kinetic” quality to differentiate it from the vocal performances of other animated films.
