It’s only fitting that Becky Bloomwood would browse the aisles of one of the city’s most popular shopping destinations when she was in town yesterday.

Isla Fisher, who stars as Bloomwood, the lead character in the upcoming Confessions of a Shopaholic flick, was filming yesterday at United House Wrecking on Hope Street with co-stars John Goodman and Joan Cusack.

In the new movie, the Wedding Crashers actress plays a financial journalist who knows more about the marketplace than the stock market, and her shopping obsession threatens to destroy her love life and career.

The antiques emporium’s parking lot was transformed into a New Jersey flea market – the “Nutley Stop & Swap” – for a scene in which Fisher is strolling the aisles of vintage toys and bric-a-brac while wearing knee-high metallic boots and chatting away on her cell phone. Goodman and Cusack, who play her less-fashionable parents, are seen in the background haggling over merchandise.

Another set has been added of Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy filming Confessions of a Shopaholic this past week in Manhattan. These are super cute!

First of all, apologies for the recent downtime. I have been moving the site to a new server due to the rapid growth of the contents and popularity. The lovely Isla Fisher has been busy filming Confessions of a Shopaholic in New York City. I’ve added two new sets of photos of her on the set in a very interesting bridesmaid dress. First she was filmed being a bridesmaid on Suze’s (Krysten Ritter) wedding and then yesterday Hugh Dancy and Isla were pictured filming a kissing scene and bursting in laughter after each take. Very funny! :love: I truly cannot wait to see this movie, I bet it’ll be fun and colorful.

I have also updated most sections of the site with new quotes and trivia bits. :happy:

Confessions of a Shopaholic has rounded out its casting, with John Lithgow, Kristin Scott Thomas, Leslie Bibb, Lynn Redgrave and Julie Hagerty joining the Disney/Bruckheimer Films romantic comedy, which stars Isla Fisher.

Based on the best-selling novels by Sophie Kinsella and directed by P.J. Hogan, the film centers on a compulsive shopper (Fisher) in Manhattan up to her neck in debt who becomes a financial-advice columnist.

Lithgow will play a publishing magnate, Thomas a magazine editor, Bibb a fashion magazine staffer, Redgrave a doyenne of a publishing empire and Hagerty a business magazine assistant.

The film is shooting in New York and Connecticut.

Disney’s Jason Reed is overseeing.

Joan Cusack and John Goodman have joined the cast of Touchstone Pictures’ Confessions of a Shopaholic. Isla Fisher has already boarded the comedy as the star.

Film is based on the bestselling Sophie Kinsella novel, which centers on a woman who must deal with the stresses of mounting credit card debt while trying to navigate the New York magazine world. Goodman and Cusack will play the parents of Fisher’s character. Hugh Dancy and Krysten Ritter also star.

P.J. Hogan is directing, and Jerry Bruckheimer produces. Film is lensing in New York and Connecticut.

Some exciting news:

Now that the writer’s strike has finally come to close, Disney has announced its feature releases through 2009 and early 2010. Disney has decided to make Isla Fisher-Hugh Dancy romantic comedy Confessions of a Shopaholic its 2009 Valentine’s Day release.
