Quoting Fisher
"Do I work out? Gosh no. I'm not a big fan of that. So how do you look like this? Um. I don't like to say it but I am fortunate in that I just have good genes. My mum is small and so am I.

Isla Fisher may always look a million dollars, but the self-confessed tomboy is actually nothing like her latest character in Confessions Of A Shopaholic, the big-screen adaptation of Sophie Kinsella’s bestselling novel.
In fact, Fisher says she was literally thrown in the fashionista deep end to play the film’s out-of-control spendthrift Rebecca Bloomwood, who’s forced to take stock when her shopping obsession leaves her drowning in debt.
“Playing Becky was fun. But I’ve never been mad on fashion; I’m most happy in a T-shirt and jeans,” says the 32-year-old mum, who researched the role by attending shopaholic support groups and learning from the film’s style guru, Patricia Field.

It wasn’t her first role, but Isla Fisher’s performance as the, ahem, adventurous woman in Wedding Crashers was certainly her most-noticed.
Until now. Playing the lead for the first time, the Australian Fisher stars as Rebecca Bloomwood in Confessions of a Shopaholic, which opens Friday. Based on the best-selling novel by Sophie Kinsella — Fisher said she read and loved it long before the film came along — it’s the story of a woman who hopes to become a finance writer, despite drowning in debt herself due to her inability able to stop shopping

If you’re looking for a luxury-mad label-lover, Isla Fisher’s not your girl.
The red-haired Australian actress, clad in a striped sweater and poufy skirt, doesn’t even know who designed her outfit, which she got from her stylist. And she gets annoyed when a gorgeous studded bracelet keeps catching on her black tights, nearly ripping them.
“I’m all right,” she says. “This is a hazardous bracelet. It looks fabulous, but it’s a hazard.”
And unlike your typical calorie-averse fashionista, she eats. At a window table at Fred’s at Barneys, Fisher tears through her lobster salad, buttery bread and tiramisu with the same zest that her Confessions of a Shopaholic character, Rebecca Bloomwood, reserves for spending sprees she can’t afford. In the film, opening Friday and based on Sophie Kinsella’s books, Fisher’s Becky shops till she drops — and ends up $16,000 in debt.

As I’ve reported, tonight was the New York premiere for Confessions of a Shopaholic. Miss Fisher attended the screening wearing a wore a slinky green cocktail beaded dress by Matthew Williamson but retrieved her white Zac Posen coat to walk the press line.
Isla told her press her biggest splurge is Food. “I love food,” she said. “I splurge on nice restaurants.”
She looks really cute! More pics tomorrow!

“You see it on the screen,” he says. “She’s vivacious, she’s funny, she’s a wonderful dramatic actress. This movie wouldn’t work without the ability she has to pull this character off and show that she is serious. The comedic part – we saw what she could do in Wedding Crashers and some of her other work, but the real surprise is that she’s a wonderful dramatic actress.” – Jerry Bruckheimer
Canada.com published a nice article about Ms. Isla Fisher. She discusses Sacha, growing up in Australia, Confessions and mentions a little more on Rango. Check it out in the press archive!

Go see Confessions of a Shopaholic for shopping tips and financial advice?
That’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s idea. He thinks that the timing for the release of his comedy about a girl hooked on plastic is eerily prescient, considering the current economic turmoil.
And that may make people want to spend money to go see the film, right?
