For today’s update I have uploaded another batch of HQ appearance photos. They range from rare HQs from some 1999 events, to gorgeous additions from more recent events. View some of the more notable additions through the links and thumbnails below, and click here for our Last Uploads page, to see everything that’s been added.
We also have a scan from a 2009 issue of Italian Vanity Fair, and a previously unseen photo from a Burke & Hare promotional photoshoot. I’m hoping we’ll be able to get our hands on more from that photoshoot soon! Maybe they’ll be used to promote the film for it’s upcoming US theatrical release.

Whilst browsing for Burke & Hare videos earlier, I came across an Australian trailer for the film that I hadn’t posted here before. The film was released in Isla’s home country back in May.
I also found a clip from the film.
We’ll have screencaps from the DVD (which is available to buy in the UK now) in the next few weeks …

A new trailer for Burke & Hare has been released, as promotion for it’s upcoming September 9th theatrical release in the US. The trailer is available here at DreadCentral.com, but unfortunately I can’t view it or therefore embed it … hopefully some of you can, though…
Burke and Hare will be available on SundanceNOW starting August 5th ahead of its theatrical debut on September 9th. The John Landis directed comedy stars Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers), Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), and Tom Wilkinson (Shakespeare in Love).

This week’s indie release-date updates brings news that IFC Films will handle John Landis’ first feature in 12 years, the black comedy “Burke & Hare.” It’s set for September 9.
“Burke & Hare” is the based on the true story of William Burke and William Hare, two 19th-century Edinburgh grave robbers who discovered there was a good business in providing dead bodies for medical schools.
The film stars Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Isla Fisher and Tom Wilkinson.
Shot at London’s Ealing Studios, the film was released nearly a year ago in the UK to unkind reviews. “An inept black farce that couldn’t be more lifeless if it was one of their victims,” wrote Total Film. The Guardian was marginally less damning, describing it as “more ‘Carry On’ than classic.”

I’ve just read that Burke & Hare was released in Australian cinemas yesterday (May 13th).
As for other international release dates – France will get the film in cinemas on July 27th, and Germany got the DVD earlier this week, apparently. It’s already available to buy on DVD in the UK. But still no word on a US release date!
Isla Fisher has hinted her decision to “completely copy” her father’s accent for one of her movie roles didn’t go down well.
The Australian actress portrayed Ginny in Burke and Hare, which was released last year. It starred Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis as two grave robbers, and for her role Isla had to speak in a Scottish accent. She found it hard to find someone to base her character on as the film was set in the 19th century, so decided to look closer to home.
“For Burke and Hare [Ginny] was completely fictional because there wasn’t much to go on from that period, I think Ginny was completely invented actually,” she told Cover Media. “My father has a very thick Scottish accent so I just did my dad’s accent. And actually everyone felt it wasn’t, y’know… I just copied my dad completely.”
Isla is currently promoting new animation Rango, in which she voices the character of Beans. Unlike most CGI films, the stars involved with Rango – including Johnny Depp, Abigail Breslin and Bill Nighy – acted alongside each other and didn’t just lay down vocals in a booth.
Isla was pleased with the process, as she thinks the chemistry actors get when they are in front of each other is “irreplaceable”. She also liked that Rango was shot scene by scene from start to finish, rather than in a random order.
“We shot it chronologically. We shot this over 21 days. We came in and there was almost no homework to do as an actor because your emotional arc… you’re doing it in order,” she explained. “It’s not even that you need to remember how you were feeling in the scene before.”
Rango is released in the UK on March 4.
Burke & Hare will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on February 21st, 2011. You can pre-order the DVD at amazon.co.uk here, and the Blu-ray here. No information on any extras on the DVD available yet, sadly.
British moviegoers gorged themselves for a second week on a rich diet of horror as “Saw 3D” took over the No. 1 box office spot from Paranormal Activity.
The story of a group of Jigsaw survivors seeking the support of a self-help guru with a dark secret took 3.6 million pounds on its debut over the weekend, according to Screen International on Tuesday.
The three orphan girls of family movie “Despicable Me” stayed in second place, just above the chilling suburban frights of “Paranormal Activity 2″ in third.
“RED,” with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren as former CIA agents on the run, slipped a place to fourth.
Facebook biopic “The Social Network” was down one at five while Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis in the story of two 19th century body snatchers “Burke and Hare” came in at six.
