Literature fans were thrilled when it was announced another film adaptation of Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” was in the works. Further, they became overjoyed with the news that Leonard DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and Fischer were among the talented actors cast. And according to the Scottish actress, the stars of the film will not disappoint as Lurhmann’s direction helped ease the actors’ nerves.
“On my first day he had Jay-Z pumped up full and we did the entire scene with, you know, Jay-Z in our ear on full blast while acting and it was just so liberating,” Fischer said. “He really understands actors and how self-conscious we feel at times, and how exposed we are and how we never know where anything lands. Just the complexity of being vulnerable every minute when you’re acting and he just makes you feel so safe.”
We imagine being in the extremely capable hands of the man behind “Romeo + Juliet,” “Australia” and “Moulin Rouge” would make you feel very safe.

Isla and the Now You See Me cast and crew have now moved to France, and have been spotted shooting scenes in Paris this week! Isla was seen filming a scene with Woody Harrelson and an unknown male actor, and looked like her character might’ve been in disguise, or at least like she was trying to keep a low profile! I’m getting more and more intrigued by this movie the more we hear about it.
Check out these great new set pics in our Gallery:

‘Real-life’ illusionist David Copperfield has been on the set of Now You See Me recently, and on April 10th he posted a photo of himself with the cast members playing illusionists in the film:

More researching and writing has been going on, and our Screenwriting career page is now up! I’ve tried to give you the lowdown on Isla’s work and thoughts on her script writing projects etc., and I hope the page is interesting to you. I’ve definitely found it interesting reading about Isla’s work to put these pages together for you.
I’ve just got the Filmography pages and Style section to work on now … they are big projects and will take some time, so I will work on them in due course and post updates along the way!
ET have the first live action look at the filming of Now You See Me, visiting the set and getting to see some of action as well as chatting to the stars, including Isla! There’s some great footage, and it’s really interesting to hear the cast talk about their characters and the plot.
The Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg is working some cinematic magic for his new role in Now You See Me alongside fellow movie magicians Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco — and only ET is on the set!
“Every scene has some interesting component of magic to it, or some kind of reversal of character,” Eisenberg tells ET. “I’m sure it’ll be as fun to watch as it has been to do.”
Coming to theaters in 2013, Now You See Me casts Eisenberg, Harrelson, Fisher and Franco (the 21 Jump Street star and brother of James Franco) as “The Four Horsemen,” a quartet of the world’s greatest illusionists who pull off a series of daring heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances, showering the stolen profits on their audiences while staying one step ahead of FBI Agent Mark Ruffalo and Interpol agent Melanie Laurent.
“We are kind of modern-day Robin Hoods,” explains Fisher. “We’re getting back at corporate greed and we’re distributing the wealth and we’re essentially kind of anarchists, good guys, good magicians, righting the wrongs of the world.”
Michael Caine also stars as a wealthy benefactor, and Morgan Freeman plays a former illusionist and now world-famous magic debunker determined to take down the Horsemen.
Also starring Common and Michael Kelly, the film is directed by Louis Letterrier (Clash of the Titans, The Incredible Hulk).

Fantastic news, Isla fans! (Well, those in the US, anyway). Bachelorette will be released in North America on June 1st – that’s 7 weeks away. It may also be available on Video On Demand around the same time.
From the LATimes:
And they’re moving more aggressively into the burgeoning video-on-demand business with a new division called Radius that will release titles simultaneously on digital platforms and in a limited number of theaters. Radius has already acquired several low-budget pictures, and its first release, the Kirsten Dunst comedy “Bachelorette,” will be June 1.
Danish fans can also be excited, as according to IMDB the film will get a release there on June 14th.
We’ll keep you posted on further international release dates, and let’s cross our fingers for not just that, but for some US promotion as well
Yesterday I added a new-old batch of photos from the set of Now You See Me, that were taken the day before the first batch we had a few weeks ago. Isla is seen walking around on set with Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, wearing a blue blouse and dark jeans. Big thanks to my friend Lindsey for sending these to us!
I’ve also been super busy the last few days, researching Isla’s upcoming projects to write our In Development career page. I’ve now completed it as accurately and in depth as I can, providing you with all the latest information on the projects Isla is probably/hopefully still developing, including Groupies, Cookie Queen, and Life Coach. I just want to see more and more of Miss Fisher’s unique brand of funny on screen, so I hope some of these projects get a big greenlight soon.
