It wasn’t her first role, but Isla Fisher’s performance as the, ahem, adventurous woman in Wedding Crashers was certainly her most-noticed.

Until now. Playing the lead for the first time, the Australian Fisher stars as Rebecca Bloomwood in Confessions of a Shopaholic, which opens Friday. Based on the best-selling novel by Sophie Kinsella — Fisher said she read and loved it long before the film came along — it’s the story of a woman who hopes to become a finance writer, despite drowning in debt herself due to her inability able to stop shopping
